National Services 

Contact is an organization that aims to help families feel valued, supported, confident and informed. With a range of services including an online community, a national support, information and advice service, family events and workshops.

ACE Education continues the work of The Advisory Centre for Education. For parents and carers ACE provides independent advice and information on state education in England.

IPSEA  Independent Provider of Special Education Advice (known as IPSEA) offers free and independent legally based information, advice and support to help get the right education for children and young people with all kinds of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We also provide training on the SEND legal framework to parents and carers, professionals and other organisation.

Community Accord is the Mediation service used in Redbridge. They aim to work with people and families in dispute with the Local Authority to identify the issues that need resolving and the interests or needs behind the problems.

National Autistic Society  The UK's largest provider of specialist autism services. NAS have trained staff and volunteers that bring passion and expertise to the lives of 100,000 autistic people every year. 

Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people. 

Coram is a group of specialist organisations helping more than a million children, young people, professionals and families every year. The Coram Group provides direct support to children, young people, parents and carers, through our education and early years programmes, and online resources.

Turn2us is a national charity helping people when times get tough. They provide financial support to help people get back on track.

Voiceability is a free independent advocacy service that can help support you to make decisions.

Local Services

Children’s Centres  If you live in Redbridge and you are expecting a baby or have children aged 0 to 4 years (up to 8 years for babies and children with SEND) your local Children’s Centre is ready to help with information, advice and access to services and activities

Children with Disabilities Team  The Children with Disabilities Service provides support to children and young people who have been diagnosed with a permanent, severe or profound disability, and their families. Their social workers and Assessment Workers will work with families to support them in ensuring that the children are happy, safe and making progress.

Early Years Advisory Service  The Early Years Advisory Service (EYAS) advises and supports those working with children, within the Early Years Foundation Stage, who have special educational needs.

Educational Psychology Service  Educational Psychologists work with children and young people aged 0 - 25 years with a range of different needs. EPs also work with parents, teachers and other adults too. They all work together to try and help your child/young person in school or college. EPs have a degree in psychology and have undertaken professional training in educational psychology.  

Educational Welfare Service  The Education Welfare Service (EWS) promotes the importance of regular school attendance and investigates the causes of poor attendance. The EWS works closely with schools, parents, young people and other agencies to secure this.

Empowering Parents Together – Parent Carer Forum (EPT)  EPT are a parent/carer forum for parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities in Redbridge.

EWMHS/CAMHS  The Emotional Well Being and Mental Health Service (EWMHS) are Redbridge’s area based specialist mental health team providing support to children, young people and their families. Their service is available to families with children & young people from birth to their 18th birthday. They offer help to children and young people who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties.

Redbridge Educational Wellbeing Team (REWT)  REWT are a team of Specialist Senior and Assistant Educational Psychologists whose aim is to build skills, knowledge and confidence of school staff, other professionals and members of the community regarding the development of children and young people's emotional well-being. They work closely with the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) and Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs)

Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS) RCSS offer a huge amount of community support and advice for carers in Redbridge.

Specialist Education and Training Support Service  SEaTSS offer a wide range of support, advice and training opportunities for schools and settings to enable them to deliver high quality support for individual children to ensure that the people who work with them and their families are equipped to understand and meet their individual needs

SEN Team  The Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Inclusion Services team is responsible for the administration of statutory assessments and statements of children with special educational needs.

SEND Local Offer  The local offer is for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 0 to 25 years. It provides information and support services available to families in their local area
