What happens with your education when you turn 16?

What can you do when you leave school?

Most young people leave their school at the end of Y11. In Y10 you need to start thinking about what you would like to do. The law says that you must stay in either education or training until you are 18 (Y13) This can be combined with paid or voluntary work.

There are many options out there for you to consider.

You can stay on at your schools 6th Form if they have a suitable course for you or you may want to go to the local college.

You can also look at apprenticeships.

Most schools have career officers or teachers that can help you look at all your options, also you may have a meeting with Connexions in Y11 to discuss what you would like to do.
